Random Drug testing is done at the SA Schools Championships - both Primary and High Schools. The Institute for Drug Free Sport randomly picks an Event/Heat/Lane, and whoever happens to be swimming in that lane gets tested. Please go to "Drug Free Sport" (bottom left of this page) and check the Athletes Guide to Drug Free Sport. If your child is taking a prohibited medication (eg. Ventolin) the appropriate forms must be submitted immediately. There is a link to the Drug Free Sport website where you can get more information. Your Application for Therapeutic Use Exemption Forms must be submitted at least 3 weeks prior to the gala. There are special requirements for Ritalin - please read instructions carefully. There is also a Hotline number to call.
